"The power of Music and Kinesthetics in education has sprouted this month in my masters degree program. I wrote this in review of my developments. Props go out to Dr. Richard Repp who is my instructor." Enjoy!
The Kinesthetics Dance

Well, my words, turned to lyrics that evolved into song
The video is shaping up, but I had to cut out the scene with the thong
I am adjusting the tone and bending the pitch
I’ve added some reverb, which has become my favorite new niche
Kinesthetic learning works wonders and more
When body activity is involved, I can’t believe each student’s skyrocketing score
And I love the suggestions my peer group has offered to me
Thank you soooo much David, Dorreen, and Kimberly!
I have the bug - the jitterbug to make music.
It is seriously contagious and a bit outrageous
To ‘Attract’ students to knowledge will cause a world of change
Think of all the benefits, ‘higher grades and attendance,’ this should be the new rage.
Something so powerful as knowledge put to beat and melodic sound
In short bursts of infusion that reinforce key points that abound
Watch the video, see the lights pop on
Every student is involved and it’s because of ‘Song’
Be a ‘Playa’ that lures the students to fun
One day when they are successful, they’ll give you thanks that you were that ‘One’
The Teacher who dared to be different in class
You never mentioned how empty – only how ‘Full’ was their glass!
I use music with motions to teach all my topics
Everything I from capacitors, digital, the transistor dance, and even hydrophonics
Everything with a hook and a song with movement
Kinesthetics is golden for helping memory ‘retent’
Retentivity – increase that and finally all the principals will see
We have the answer to education – it is our destiny
Take them to knowledge take them in fun
‘Song’ is the way – Dr. Repp, look what you have done!
Break it down:
6 students walk to the front and all hold each others hand
The oscillator starts playing a sine wave band
Every other student moves up and the others move down
As the frequency rises they move faster like they’re going to town
When the pitch drops low they spread out side by side
The wavelength of their bob is slow and deep and wide
The room roars with laughter and I say, “Wa’ Sup”
It’s just an oscillator taught by music and kinesthetics – Dr. Repp, Word Up!
